My Brother...

My Brother was in an accident three weeks ago today. So, this happened the following weekend after we were there to pickup my cat (Darcie). Brother driving on his motorcycle on one of the main streets there was hit, or he hit a woman that was pulling into her drive way to go home. I don't know who's fault it was, but it's of no consequence really. I'll find out all the details of the actual accident later. My concern is with my Brother right now. He flew 35 feet off of his bike landing on his face. He has pretty much crushed every bone in his face. He tore ligaments in one of his elbows and thumbs. They went in first after getting him stable, and fixed his thumb and elbow with pins. After that he laid in ICU for a few days. They brought him into his own room. Brother complained of really bad headaches, and he seized once. They took him back into surgery to open up his skull to fix the issue. Apparently his skull fractures were not healing the way they were suppose to. After the surgery he went back into ICU. He seized again, and they took him back in. He's back out of surgery now, and still in ICU. No reported further seizures. He is now stable and awake. He should be moved to his own room in two days.

Updates to come...

Update 1: 8/8/2005, He's still in critical care. I found out further information concerning his accident. Apparently this young woman was in a hurry to get home to her sick relative, and didn't even see my Brother coming. My brother had no stopping room, and smacked right into the passenger side of her car. He didn't even have a chance to do anything, but say, "fuck!" IMHO. And he was only a half mile up the main street where the house sits off of. My Brother's wife has already contacted a lawyer there. I call back around 1 p.m. or so to get further information from his wife concerning him.

Update 2: 8/8/2005, Dad called back to say that my Brother woke up this morning and drank a little Ensure, then went back to sleep. They haven't been able to wake him, so they are going to either reduce his pain meds. Or they might put him on something different. I call back at 3 p.m.
