My 1st Monkey
Bah! It's a boring Sunday as usual. I'm spending it drawing in Flash.

I stuck up a fresh crop of one of my photographs from Block Island. Back to loafing.
I found this reading some Spymac blogs. This is a good reason to not have an account at Spymac.com. They filter your content. This is from one of their moderators, I believe. I've found no other blog tracking site that edits your content. Has anyone else experienced this anywhere else?

I just had to edit the title of your latest blog entry. Please do not use profanity in blog titles as they do show up in the blog tracker. If you use profanity again, in a public fashion, you could have your account suspended.
We awaken at around 4 a.m. to find Darcie on the bed at our feet. We were surprised by this really. We never figured she would do this, because Arrow usually sleeps with us. She's not completely keen on the boy yet. He's rough, he's inconsiderate, and he frankly just doesn't care if you aren't in the mood. So, she lays at out feet growling off and on at the little guy when he is being too frisky. (I should say, little guy, because he's over 5 pounds of male kitty trouble. I would growl at him too, if I were a female cat. But then... I already growl at him when he over steps his bounds.) We tried to drift off back to sleep. Again with the growling at 5:45 a.m. This time Arrow is completely frisky, and annoying. Darcie is protecting the bed, and trying to keep Arrow from pouncing onto it. Guh... That's it. No point in trying to sleep longer. I get up, and call them out to the kitchen. I make Arrow his breakfast first, and close the door to the bathroom. He doesn't like it when Darcie stares at him while he's eating. Odd, because he LOVES to stare at her when she's eating. I can hear him inhaling it. *rolls my eyes* I make Darcie her breakfast and put it down for her. She's a dainty eater. Very slow. She likes to chew her food. I make coffee while waiting for them to finish. What a morning.
We purchased the DVD for this movie yesterday and watched it last night. It was GOOOOOOD!
--Known Spammer Found Dead in Moscow
(26 July 2005)
Vardan Kushnir, a man known to be a spammer, was found beaten to death
in his Moscow apartment. No motive for his murder has been established
and it is not known if it is related to his spamming activities, though
Mr. Kushnir has been the target of revenge attacks in the past.
I had my dentist visit today to fill the one small cavity I have. It's done, but my head feels funny. While they were filling my tooth I wound up getting a little dizzy headed. A small side effect for me from the Novocain. Our dentist office here is actually pretty good. Comfort wise. Before they give you the shot of Novocain they apply this numbing gel first around the area they are going to give you the shot(s) of Novocain at. Makes for "No Pain" experience. Good for everyone. They are pretty chatty while they work on you. They can be damn funny too.
What are the girl and boy kitties doing? So far today, It's been a stare down. Maybe it's more of a show down.
Yeah, so, I've been talking about my cat a lot lately. And yes, I'm going to do it one more time. We introduced Darcie and Arrow yesterday evening. Right now there is mild posturing from both sides. Growling, spitting, swatting. No wounds yet, but I don't think it will get that far. Arrow keeps stalking her like some obsessive boyfriend. She really dislikes that, and is quick to pounce on him when he crosses her bounds of personal space. She doesn't mind sharing a domicile with another cat, but she doesn't necessarily want to be chummy or close. Right now she seems to be tolerating him pretty well I think. I'm hoping it gets better.
Well, the girl and boy met for the first time today. Face to face. It went well considering. Her age (14) and his (4 months). Slight spitting and growling. Now wounds. Just intimidation by both. More so on the older cat, Darcie (female, 14 years old, my cat). She's been with another male cat, but Arrow is much more dominant than he. Darking markings, more dominant in hehavior. He's very manly for a young 4 month old male cat. He's not neutered either, so that has a slightly larger play in them gettting along. KC, Darcie's prior buddy was neutered. He died two years ago. Not sure if she remembers it at all, or him.
Darcie Marie <-- Video of Darcie my 14 year old female calico. A hint of her temperament.
My girly was waiting for me at the top of the stairs to the basement door this a.m. As soon as she knew beyond a doubt that the feet she saw under the door was me she meowed. I said, "Good morning, girly! I'll be right with you." She meowed more. Not because she wants out, but because she loves her breakfast meal. I open the door and she looks up at me and sits patiently for me to close the door behind me. She runs down the stairs like a mad cat knowing I'm going to fetch her food bowl - meowing. I run back up with her bowl, and she sits at the bottom of the stairs waiting for me to return. She's funny that way. Today is the last day of her ear medication. Yah!
Yesterday we picked up the Oblongs Complete DVD. We watched a few last that night, and laughed our asses off. It's so sick it will crack you up.
Now back to listening to all my Marilyn Manson albums.
The Comcast tech came by this a.m. to install our new modem. Our speeds are much better. Now lets see if we still get the latency.
My girl meowed at the door to the basement this morning. Sticking her paws underneath the bottom of the door. *chuckles* She was a hungry girl. Oh, btw. Next Thursday should be the end of her two week quarantine (suggested by the Veterinarian). Yah!
Well, she's officially had her first dose of Methimazol (.5 ml) liquid twice daily. Keeping an eye on her throughout the day. Right now she's sulking in her bed. Mad at me for making her take her medicine. Oh well. Good for the girly in the end, I hope. Should even her out. Help with temperament. Counteract her unbelievable shedding, and unkempt look.
Some further information.
I found her on top of the chair... On top of my body board today. Pretty far up. I have NO idea how she got up there wearing her 'cone'. *lol* When she saw me she meowed her hello meow. I picked her up and put her on my shoulder, and she seemed to sit still and like it. I carried her over to her bed on the floor. She sat and waited for me to bring her food down to her. I've been splitting her entire meal for the day in two halves. To keep food in her stomach. Nothing worse than feeling hungry when you don't feel good. Besides, she's never eaten her entire meal for the day in one sitting. She picks at it, but eventually finishes it. I figure it would be nice to have a partial fresh meal at the end of the day. She's now on my lap napping and purring. She's much more talkative. A good thing.
Her medication for her ears is going well. Today will be her third day. On day five I am removing the collar. By then her medication for her ears will have been almost complete (7 days). She's letting me touch her ears now, and scritch them. Darcie didn't let you go anywhere near her ears before her treatment started. All is going well. Now to wait for Monday to arrive. We are waiting on her medication for her hyperthyroidism. I chose liquid form given from an eyedropper. It seemed like the more viable choice right now. Fish flavored.
My launch in Ohio was successful. I swear the thing went 1000FT. Now to modify the paint on the cone again. It just didn't come out right. I'm going to sand and cover with gloss red. Here is the launch video. We lost it in the sky it went so far up.
She had her checkup and shots today. They had to sedate her, because she's a calico and temperamental. ALL calicos are temperamental. While she was out they cut her nails real short, and cleaned her ears. The Vet. tech said, "She had the dirtiest ears I have EVER seen!" I sighed... And gave a sad face. She is healthy, but dehydrated. They gave her fluids while she was out also. I have to treat her ears with meds for seven days, twice a day. She has to keep this sun flower collar on till done - To keep her from digging at her bad ears. It's why she wound up with a califlower ear to begin with. We are still waiting for her geriatric blood screening to come back - Not till Saturday. I hope she's ok.
Update: Her geriatric blood screening came back positive for hyperthyroidism. She has to take medication twice a day for the rest of her life. Unless a radiation treatment is given to kill the bad part of her thyroid. $1200 for the radiation treatment. For her medication it's $22 a month, and $52 for blood tests (which are often) to make sure her medication levels are correct. *sighs*
I arrived there in Ohio. Darcie is a bit TOO heavy for her age, and body type. She is officially on a diet. Here is a picture of her after her shower with me. Yes, I jumped in the shower with her. It's easy that way. No fuss, No muss! Below are pictures of her sleeping on my desk. She looks comfy.
How am I suppose to get any work done now?
We will be heading off to pick up my cat Darcie in Ohio. It's going to be 16 hours of driving both ways. We should be back sometime on the 13th. She has a Vet. appointment here in PA on the 14th for a checkup and shots to get her up to date. I miss the old puddy-girl.
Ugh.. The weather there... From NOAA.gov.
Ok, The primer paint is drying now. I'll wait for four hours, then sand. After that I will decide whether it needs another coat of primer, or just move to gloss black. I don't want to match the paint scheme to what is pictured. Well, it will be modified. I'm going to figure in a gloss fluoresent yellow design along the cone and base. Hmmm... Lightning pattern maybe. Still thinking about it.Update: Ok, here it is with the gloss black paint complete. Four hours to dry, and it's now 1:40 p.m. Now to contemplate further modification of the design. Here is a picture of what the unmodified Black Diamond looks like.
Did a lot of stuff today. We went by the hobby shop, and I picked up some paints and a three pack of D engines for when I finally get my D Engine Rocket built. We (since it was given to us from our nephew & family to both of us rocketeer) have the Phoenix. Right now I'll be finishing the Black Diamond that I got for my birthday. Going to work on it this evening. I'll take a picture of it when it's complete. I can't wait to get to the paints.
While out I also picked up another cat carrier for my cat Darcie. We are picking her up in Ohio from the 11th through the 14th. We will be staying one night only, if things go right. Then leaving the next day with her. I picked up some Eukanuba Mature Cat food for her. She's 14 now, and I don't want her eating food loaded full of dies and other crap.
The day started off with the Comcast tech showing up, and replacing our modem with a loner till we buy a new one. We picked up a new one at Best Buy, so he will come by tomorrow and install it. Not that we need him to, but he has to pick up his modem anyway. While at Best buy I picked up two CDs of "Breaking Benjamin". Albums are "Saturate" & "We Are Not Alone". I also went to the dentist today for a checkup & cleaning with x-rays. I had not seen a dentist since 1999. In 1999 I had a facial cavity. They could not fill it then. Today the cavity is a bit bigger. Big enough to fill now. Not bad that I only had that one since 1999. The dentist said to keep up the good work, and caring about my teeth enough to brush and floss every day - multiple times a day. I go back at the end of this month to have the filling completed (gives a big healthy smile). Now off to catch up on my Administrative work that has piled up.
13 Mosquito bites, odd scratches and bruises. I still can't figure out how I got most of the scratches and bruises. *shrugs* Anyway. Thank god the heat let up, or I'd be cranky as all hell. But it was humid.
What am I doing right now... I'm patching an XP2 system, Updating software (ie: Firefox, Thunderbird, iTunes, Spyware Blaster, Spybot S&D, etc.) And While doing that I'm listening to 2600: The Hacker Quarterly. Fireworks? Who needs fireworks when one has Estes Model Rockets?
Note for Kim.... The D engine rocket I have only goes up to 200 FT or so. Has to do with the weight of the rocket, and design. *nods* So, I could shoot it off at home. ;)
The trip went ok, but there was a bit of traffic getting here. It's hot and It's humid. Today is 63% humidity.
