Americas Army & Punkbuster Probs...
I helped a gaming friend over IM tonight. Seems he was having issues connecting to any Americas Army servers due to adware that he didn?t know he had installed on his computer. So, I google?d it, and came up with the below. After doing this little fix he was back online playing with the boys. Enjoy! :D
?I keep getting kicked by PunkBuster for "Insufficient O/S Privileges"?
Download and run this file from any location, it will check for adware that stops you from being able to play on PB servers. The VX2 adware edits your user rights when it infects your computer, and many programs do not repair this when they remove it.
Click the "Find VX2.betterinternet info" button to make sure that you don't have this adware. If there are no files listed, go on to the last step. If you find the adware files, (it is usually 3 random named dll files) Select all the files found.
Press 'Delete These Files'. The program will delete all files but one that will be deleted on reboot. Allow program to reboot. Once Restarted:
* Press 'Guardian.reg'.
* Press 'User Agent'.
* Press 'Restore Policy'.
Clicking on "find vx2.BetterInternet info" again should show all fields blank.
If you have no adware files, just click on the "Restore Policy" Button?
Fink and FinkCommander
?The Fink project wants to bring the full world of Unix Open Source software to Darwin and Mac OS X. We modify Unix software so that it compiles and runs on Mac OS X ("port" it) and make it available for download as a coherent distribution. Fink uses Debian tools like dpkg and apt-get to provide powerful binary package management. You can choose whether you want to download precompiled binary packages or build everything from source.?
A friendly suggestion to all Flash web designers out there. If you are going to use a Flash introduction, or design a complete Flash site, then you must also put an HTML equivalent. After loading it for the god awful millionth time ? I am sick of seeing and hearing it. I just want the information that I came for. Nothing more. Not to mention the load time in a browser is slower than just straight HTML (or PHP). Please? sighs
I updated my 2005 gallery with an iPhoto export. If anyone notices any graphics not showing up right in my blog here email me. Or post on one of my current posts in the comments section. The link is in the left menu area there. Enjoy. :D
I went out and took some pictures today. Some pretty flowers. And a cute little baby bunny - I almost stepped on. Good thing I was looking down when I was walking. I would have cried for days, if I had hurt the little fellow. Seriously. I would have had to see a head shrink, because of this little bunny. OMG.
I'll put up the pictures shortly on my photoblog.
Update: Pictures are up. Enjoy!
I had an ?Ok? day for a Monday. I met a few new people. One complimented me on my digital art, which was nice. I?m hoping a few will respond back further. One can never have enough friends. Played some chess for about an hour. Fun. Fun. But I was playing the computer. I?m sure it will be more fun to play another human. I have Chessmaster 9000 for OSX. My name is ?McSpazatron?. *lol*
Oy. So, my render is taking twice as long. This is due to the texture, and the amount of metaballs used to create it. Hmmm. I sent a good friend a preview of this. Hehe. Lucky you are. Winks. Anyway. This is time consuming. I?m not sure when it?s going to be done. Be patient. It?s coming.
My render of this new design is 86% complete after going all night long and most of today. Man! This might be done later on this evening. It?s not going up right away. I have some editing to do to it first. If my design goes as planed. It?s going to be sick.
This was such a fun movie to see. If you like kung-fu and comedy this is a fun time out. This movie is subtitled. If you have an issue reading, then this movie is not for you. Laughs.

Working on something new, but it?s going to take over 8 hours to render. It?s a bit more elaborate, which adds to the render time. I?ll be starting this one later on in the evening, and will be letting it run overnight. Now back to laundry.

After trying to use Live Update to update my defs, and it failing. (The error: ?microdefs error?) I tried to manually update it through Live Update app. Received the same error. So, I went and ftp?d to Symantec and downloaded the installer. I installed the latest virus defs that way. Not sure why there is an issue downloading from Live Update.

Oh! I wanted to say... Make sure you ALWAYS run fix disk permissions after installing updates. Otherwise you will encounter nasty little gremlins in your machine. Eventually. With OS X it's good to keep it clean.
The 30th Annual Trenton Computer Festival held at the College of New Jersey.
Outside there was a long line for tickets. It was a chilly day, so we stood in line for a while freezing our asses off getting tickets. Ladies and Gents! This was one FREAKY festival! Geeks, nerds, dweebs, and dorks came from all over for this BIG event. I was taken aback upon entering with my cheesey wristband showing membership to the geek-fest. There was no one to hide behind.
So, we headed over to the outdoor flea market to see what was what. Here at THIS flea market you can find used SPARC stations, used CISCO equipment, used switches, used monitors, and old shit that you?d just as soon throw into the neighbors yard when he wasn?t looking. You can even find CRACK. No CRACK for sale though! But I?m sure this particular flea market shopper would have given it up for free.
There was even a room for old computer systems. It was cool.
Inside the recreation center there the real exhibits sit. Where the venders scream at you, ?I make you sweet deal! I give you cheap!? As you walk by. After tolerating this banter you are looking for a couple of pints, and maybe a soothing shoulder to cry on. (For those of you that don?t drink you will want to scratch your eyes/ears out upon leaving.) The neatest thing was the New Jersey Antique Radio Club. I have some short little videos of some of the old radio and TV there. I will get those up in a day or two.
What did we walk away purchasing?
1 512MB USB (thumb drive)
1 External USB laptop hard drive case
1 Camera tripod
2 Small thumb knives
2 Chilly nipples
An Ok day out... :D
I?ve been grappling with selling my background/wallpapers, and how to go about doing it. Right now I have a small store setup with Coppermine.
My concerns are? 1) Do I put up the graphics at a 400xwhatever size for viewing only. People buy then I email the graphics to them. 2) Do I put up the graphics with the original sizes risking increasing bandwidth charges, and getting ripped off at the same time. (This will happen. I have no way to limit the download(s) to people that actually purchase.)
I don?t know, but I?m sticking with #1 right now.
What about other services? Well, I'm using one right now in addition to my Coppermine site. The problem with using D.P. (figure out the name for yourself) or any other service like this; is it?s not free. They get a percentage of what you sell. Sure it?s free for the first 60 days, but after that you get these shitty spam letters saying your pictures/graphics will be deleted if you don?t turn off the store front for those pictures/graphics, or buy a membership. Why should I have to buy a membership when you are already getting a percentage for anything I sell? This little scenario is what I am running into often.
I think I?ll stick with my Coppermine site for a while. I make all the money and do all the work. Sounds good to me.

Ok. This would make a really great birthday gift. *hint hint*
Who doesn't want their very own flying saucer? Huh? Huh?
Here is a preview of what is to come. I?ve been working on this one for a bit, and I?m nowhere near done yet. I thought you?d enjoy the sneak peak. Now I go back to delving into Bryce. I?m listening to music (Tori Amos). And I am smoking a ?Sancho Panza ? La Mancha? cigar. It?s a good little everyday smoke. Not that I smoke them everyday. It?s only on occasion.
I started a backup of my C drive with my OS included latest patches. That way I can put it all back when I need to after system mucks. It?s been the second time recently that I?ve had to put everything back that was there. Takes time. I would rather just install the OS, then restore from my back. Might save me some time in the end. I hope.
I saw videos today for the Misfits. I found most of these on the net. They were; American Psycho, Die Die My Darling, Horror Business, and Scream. *chuckles* They are quite entertaining to watch.
Went for a bike ride today. 8.4 miles. We biked up to this local place to grab a quick bite to eat. It was closed. So, we hop on the bikes and head over to WaWa and picked up a sandwich, and chocolate milk. Headed back over to the little cabanna where we ate our sandwiches. I?m tired and my legs are all spongey. I don?t feel much going up the stairs but coming down I almost fall. Came in and changed my t-shirt. I will shower in a bit. I?m sitting here listening to the new Garbage album ?Bleed Like Me?. I love it.
These shoes are so sweet. Puma ? Velez Drools like a freak.
Still working on the new Bryce creation. Something a little different. Not sure when it will be done. But should be soon. Inside my head I hear, ?But when is soon?? ? And an adult saying, ?Soon, means soon.?? The render is at 4%, and it?s 1:14 p.m.
Update: After fighting a migraine for a several hours my render is at 53%. This is going to take most of the afternoon it seems. Ugh! My head is killing me.
Earlier I was working on a new Bryce 3D creation. It needs more work to be realistic. I'll work on that more tomorrow.
We went to Gavin?s for a celebratory drink for P. The girls working there are HOT. Attractive. Sweet natured. The girls wear these white, tight shirts with Gavin?s printed over the left breast. And these cute little short black skirts. Reow! The music was a bit loud for conversation, but who cares after a couple of glasses of Guinness draft.
Now to play some AA for a bit.
I'm copying over the network these pictures to edit and put up in a day or two. So, look for them in a day or two.
Update: These photos are up. Check out my photoblog link.
For the past couple of days Comcast Cable has been muddy shit. Either a router fried, or they are having DNS issues. It?s only been in the afternoon though. Around 3-6 p.m. And it goes out totally at 5:15 p.m. So, we call for a day?s credit. Why? They never have it back up fast. It?s always over 2 hours for repairs. Comcast says the DNS/routing is out in a large area. They are not sure as to why. Right.
MSN shows me as constantly going on and off.
Now I sit reading a comic (?The Authority?). It?s damn good.
We went to see ?Sin City? today, and we both thought it was good.
Has anyone heard ?50 Cent ? The Massacre? album? Too much gangster rap for me. Oh my god! That?s a lot of anger for someone to be carrying around. It actually distracted me from sketching. I stopped sketching and just listened to the rest of it. I just don't know.
Comcast seems to be back up somewhat. Oy.
P90F - ViewSonic Monitor - Professional Series (My ass!). I so fucking hate this monitor model. I have to switch this out for a 15 inch Dell monitor tomorrow. But before I do that... I'm going to hook the cow up straight to my pc without the switch. If it's dead then... then it's dead.
I officially say, "ViewSonic Sucks!". This is now the fourth time the monitor has had problems. And you know what? This IS A WASTE OF MY TIME. I'm tired of paying money to ship this crappy monitor back. I'm not even going to take a ViewSonic monitor as a gift any longer. So, don't bother offering it to me. If you do, and it is in my hands, I will set fire to it promply.
Yes, I'm pissed. It's been a waste of money and time.
Update: I turn my switch to my iBook for the monitor, and plug it in to my iBook. I sit watching the monitor do this blink-blink thing. It comes on. I freak in surprise. Hmmm? I think. Ok. I switch it back to my PC. The monitor does this freaky blinking, but comes on. I think this monitor is on its last legs. I?m going to leave it on for a bit and see what happens after it warms up again. I?m hoping that this is just a sign of it dying, and I can finagle the switch thing to reset it with my iBook. It could be from it being off all night long, and being cool. It could be that my switch caught some bad signal from the pc.
So, the wireless router went out today. What an inconvenience.
Made sandwiches (egg & ham salad). After that I went for a walk with my camera and iPod. It?s a nice day out, and sunny. And I?m a bit pale. Not a translucent pale, but lily white pale. It?s hot when you?re out there walking though. Oh! I took some pictures. Holy Heat wave! I?m staying in the basement. It?s much cooler in the basement with cement walls.
Back to doing laundry and listening to music.
Well, I got up way early and made coffee and homemade peach pancakes. I go in to wake up the wifey, and she says, "Where is kayetie? What have you done with her?" Apparently I got up too early. *chuckles* The pancakes were super yummy though. *stands like superman with her hands on her hips giving a sly smile*
Has another bucket of coffee. Yah! I have enough caffeine to take over the world. *laughs* ... And to fuel a small refinery.
I also digitally recorded from my ComproTV card a "Robot Chicken" episode(s) that I always seem to miss. It's late at night when they come on, so I have to record them. Then convert with Dr. DivX to a smaller compressed .avi file. I'm not entirely happy with the quality though of the final file. It went from 900MB to 77MB in size. There is some pixel'ation. I need to find another plugin for Dr. DivX or some other application to do this with better video quality. I found a free conversion utility at FlaskMPEG, which I am currently trying to see if it will reduce file size and convert to .avi format.
Bah! It was more like spring out today. It was quite warm. The bumble bees are out along with the wasps in force. I hate wasps. The bumble bees are the equivalent of a big dumb jock. *nods*
So, we rented and watched this movie last night. It was good for what it was. I laughed often. We were suppose to go see "Sin City" today, but we got screwed on our schedule. Anyway, we are going to try for this tomorrow. Yah!
I bought "Gone With The Wind" the four disk collector's edition. Bah! *chuckles* And I wound up getting a soft pretzel to snack on.
*hehe* So, I'm sitting here after doing a bit of work trying to figure out what to remove from my iPod to make room for other music. The problem is eventually I want to listen to the album I just removed. Ugh! This is hard to do for me. I never know what I am in the mood for. I'm sitting on IRC, and in MSN. No one is chatting at me today, strangely enough.
After I think I'm going to go through my photographs from Easter, and put some up on my photoblog.
Oh boy What a lovely show of Republican Force.
Ann Coulter could start a riot just from her presence, me thinks. *lol*
MSN is acting up today, so I'm sitting on irc.blessed.net. Channel: kayetie, lesbian, macintosh. :)
