What type of personality do you have?

You're a natural born trouble-maker. You hate
authority and do everything you can to get
around the law, or in some cases, break it.
Naturally stubborn, you hardly ever sway once a
decision is made. Your nature is fiery and
courageous, and always out-going. You love
attention and usually have kinky fetishes
you're not afraid to explore. People either
love you or hate you.

What Type of Soul Do You Have ?
brought to you by Quizilla

Hmmm.. Not sure if this is TOTALLY accurate. *chuckles* I don't think I am a born trouble maker. I don't try to 'get around' the law, or break it. But the rest is pretty true. Beautiful brunette in the picture though... reeow...

I went to see this today, and I loved it. Keep in mind that if you go to see this movie it is subtitled. Some people don't care for that, but it really doesn't matter to me. I enjoyed the movie, and the photography was simply beautiful.

On a side note... I actually can't believe that some parents chose to bring their small children to see this movie. The dialog was completely beyond them.

Fixed My Network Filesharing Issue

My Network Filesharing issue is now fixed. Yes, that's right. I fixed it by editting the windows registry. I noticed that in my event logs I was getting these IRPStackSize errors also. Wierd. I went into the registry and changed the decimal number for this setting from 11 to 14, and it fixed my filesharing issue. This issue, I believe, is related to Norton Antivirus and how pervasive it is to the windows system.

The exact registry key was:

Then... change the value for IRPStackSize. You will need to change the base to decimal otherwise you will just see it's hex value. If the value isn't 11, then just increase your value by three. For instance if you have 15.. move it to 18.

The errors related to this are:

Aug 27 17:39:47 myibook kernel: smb_maperr32: no direct map for 32 bit server error (0xc0000205)

Domain=[YourWindowMachine] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager] tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_INSUFF_SERVER_RESOURCES

(In your event logs you will also notice it complaining about the IRPStackSize.

I Give Up For Now

I've given up for now on my windows network filesharing issue. *shrugs* I repaired my XP OS with no resolution. I've even disabled my firewall and antivirus to see if they were the issue. I've posted on a few forums for techs to see if anyone else has encountered my issue.

Right now I'm listening to the "Red Hot Chilli Peppers Greatest Hits" on my iPod. *smiles* Might play a game in a bit online. Having trouble deciding on Spearhead, Americas Army, or Castle Wolfenstien. Oh, I go by the names (@}--)Superhero and Goddes.Of.War. *hehe*

Reinstalling XP

I'm reinstalling XP on my pc today. Hopefully it will fix my networking issues. I think something got corrupted when I updated to the bigger drive, and merged partitions. *shrugs*

Back to doing some Adminstration work while this installs.

Blues & Jazz

I added some Ella Fitzgerald & Etta James to my iPod today in preperation for my trip to Block Island this coming week. Going for a long weekend. Not looking forward to the motion sickness though, which I get on boats and airplanes. It's horrid.

OS X Samba and XP Filesharing Problem

I seem to be having an issue connecting to my windows shares on my XP machine since I upgraded my drive. I can mount any other XP share on my network with my iBook, but can't mount my own PC. Although all the other windows machines on my network can see and view these shares. All but my iBook and the other Powerbook G4.

Here is the error I am getting... This was in my system log file on my iBook.

Aug 27 17:39:47 myibook kernel: smb_maperr32: no direct map for 32 bit server error (0xc0000205)

Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem might be? I've searched goolge and haven't found my issue yet.

Further error when done from my iBook on the command line...

Got a frigging migraine today. Still have it partially. I feel like crap. I'm sensitive to light and noise right now. Makes it a bit hard to read my screen. Ugh...

Thursday the 26th

At the parents, and slept a little late today. Till 10:30am. Got up had coffee with an english muffin with butter and jelly (100% fruit). Didn't get to blog yesterday at all. I was having weird DNS issues here in Somers, NY. I couldn't load any web pages. Turned out I just needed to reboot, which I usally don't need to do. My iBook has been acting a bit odd since I updated to 10.3.5, and applied the latest security patch.

I'm having a Pete's Wicked Ale right now while typing this. Yummy!

My Mom sent me an email today. Her Aunt's son died yesterday. Coronary while sitting in his bedroom chair. They are going to the viewing and funeral in Cincinnati, OH for the next few days. This was sad to hear.

All in all, a less than normal day so far.

Thank you for pointing out the booboo _0x_!

dark matter dragon

I'm putting this up now, because I am going to be out of town for the next few days. Going to up state NY to install a wireless network at a clients. I will be staying at the parent's (in-law's) house. Probably won't get a chance to do any designing while there, which stinks. At least I can type in my blog, and do email.

My upgrade went well. Right now I'm defgragging my C drive, and that's all that is left to do. So far my system is a little more snappy.

I final got my Converse All-Stars in the mail today. I am wearing them now. Woohoo! They rock! And I'm eating a salad as a late lunch. MMmmm. Listening to NPR talk radio right now too. I recorded it, so I'm listening to the recorded mp3 file. Which is cool, because I can pause or stop when I want. Good for those work interuptions here.

XP Hard Drive Upgrade

OK. Popped in my new 120GB hard drive in master position where my DVD-ROM drive is (turned off temporaily for this), and resized and formatted the drive in half. So, I have one big hard drive with two large partitions. I am copying two of my other partitions to these new patitions. Once done I will resize my C drive to take up the whole 27GB disk, so there will be plenty of breathing room for XP. After that I will reassign drive letters, so everything will be working as it's suppose to. Then I will yank my other 27GB drive for use in another system.

So far, so good.

August 22, 2004

XP Machine

Well, my pc will be down for a day or two while I update to a 120GB hard drive. So, I will be on my laptop mainly for the next few days. Hopefully my XP machine will only be down for 1 day. *crosses fingers*

Ohio Sues BestBuy

COLUMBUS - Attorney General Jim Petro today filed suit against Minnesota-based Best Buy Co., Inc. (?Best Buy?), which operates retail outlets throughout Ohio and via the Internet. The lawsuit alleges that Best Buy engaged in a pattern of unfair and deceptive acts and practices. The Attorney General?s Office received hundreds of consumer complaints during the last few years with the highest concentration of complaints alleging, among other things, that Best Buy repackaged used goods and sold them as new, failed to honor rebates, failed to honor refund and exchange programs, and failed to honor extended service contracts.

ok day

I had an "ok" day today. Did a little graphic work for a friend, and my other Admin stuff. Ran some errands. I bought a pair of Converse All-Stars. *LOL* The hightop white ones. Not the optical white. They didn't have my size in stock at the mall, so I had to order them. Free shipping if you do it in store, and have it delivered to your home. Of course the wait is 2 to 5 days, which is torture. I can't believe they are $40 now when I use to buy them for $30, but that was years ago.

Ahhh... off to smoke a CAO L'Anniv. Cameroon - Rothchild cigar. Mmmmm... smooth and tasty.

Feeling Run Down

Blah! Feel like crap today. My ass has been dragging. I kind of feel burnt out. Went to the mall to pick up some things, and got a quick snack. Got some Manga. This is the most unproductive day I've had the whole week.

SP2 News

AUGUST 18, 2004 (IDG NEWS SERVICE) - Security researchers inspecting a new update to Microsoft Corp.'s Windows XP found two software flaws that could allow virus writers and malicious hackers to sidestep new security features in the operating system.

German Internet security portal Heise Security published a security bulletin, dated Aug. 13, that describes two holes in Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and warns users about running programs from untrusted Internet sites. The flaws could allow virus writers to circumvent the security feature and write worms that spread on XP SP2 systems, according to the bulletin. However, the researcher who discovered the holes said he doesn't consider the flaws to be serious and still recommends installing SP2.

Ummmm... Good thing I didn't update.

Wednesday Shmendsday

Well, I submitted the RedEye Radiation graphic from yesterday to my page at deviantart.com, and submitted it to my spymac.net page. I have to say in an environment where there are less artists I take more shit for my work. Meaning I take more shit at my spymac submissions than anywhere else on the net. Whatever happened to giving constructive criticisms?

Hmmm... Anyway, it's all just someone's opinion right?!

And I realize that people just SUCK.

My Latest Photoshop Creation

A little something I created today. Thought I would share it. Came out quite well, and it is my current desktop picture. I created this from scratch. I'm thinking about making it next months cover for Kaye-Designs.

Norton AntiVirus LiveUpdate Problem

"LU1841: LiveUpdate could not connect to your Internet Service"

If you get something like this when running LiveUpdate you will need to go to your Control Panel/LiveUpdate and configure your connection to fix this. This should help. Although, I am not sure why LiveUpdate reset my connection settings.

New Stuff

081304-2prev.jpg 081304-4prev.jpg 081404-1prev.jpg

OK. Here is some new stuff. Two volcanic scenes, and one planet. My first planet in Terragen. Back to watching the Olympics.

August 14, 2004

Well, got up had a Starbucks triple venti caramel machiato. Went by the store and got a merlot for dinner, which was wonderful as usual. Rendered some 3D terrains, and a planet. I will put those up tomorrow.

I'm a bit buzzed on merlot and scotch wiskey. Woohoo! A good evening don't you think?! Ahhh whetever. Don't answer that. HEHE... Anway, I watched most of the Olympics today on TV while working and being creative.

I woke up a bit cranky, but just because I was tired and run down. Long day, and long night before. I guess it will be another long evening tonight. Oh well.

Aliens VS Predator

I saw it today, and it was quite intertaining. It wasn't as cheesey of a movie as I thought it would be given how they fit in the gestation period for the alien embryo, and such. *shrugs* I enjoyed it overall. Back to my Scotch and 3D render. Right now I am rendering a volcanic terrain. My own design.

August 12, 2004

Wonderful 3D terrain software. It's good, very good. I just wish it had the option to add objects like trees, foliage, houses, planets, and whatnot. At this time you have to use other third party sotware to do this. I am keeping my eye on it.

Here is the new stuff...

August 9, 2004

Had a crap load of work today, which included another site redesign. Let's just say that it is 40% done. I think the over all site looks better now than it did. I have more 3D stuff that I created to put up, but that won't happen for at least another day.

Anyway, going to go play some Max Payne 2 for a bit to relax.

The Franklin Institute

Well, we got up relatively early and went to The Franklin Institute today. We went to the Planetarium & the IMAX theatre. I have to say it was quite enjoyable. Even though there were quite a few things that didn't exactly work right. I will have some pictures up shortly today sometime on my photoblog.

5 Mile Bike Ride

My honey and I went on a 5 mile bike ride today. I have to say it was quite enjoyable. Although both my tires were low on air, so I had to do some pumping first. Now to get ready for dinner.

Building GAIM for OSX Panther

The hard & geeky way. You will need to make sure you have these packages installed first. pkgconfig, glib, gtk, atk, pango, gettext, fontconfig, expat, xft2, XFree86, freetype, and GAIM. If you get errors building these you will have to refer to the developer site. There is time involved in this, so, only applies to you geeks out there that have built software from source.

The easyier way. Here you can just download FINK, FINK Commander, and GAIM. Install.

Here is the other scene I was working on. I am still messing around with the atmosphere, and lighting conditions.

Oh My...

080104-1prev.jpg 072904-2prev.jpg

Enjoy! Some new stuff. The third one hasn't turned out the way I expected yet. Still working on it. Anyway, I made some homemade baked macaroni and cheese. OMG! It came out SO good. Kicks Kraft mac and cheese ass. Next time I will experiment with adding different cheeses. MMmmmm...

Oh, and the new friend I met yesterday (_0x_) the weblog is pookzilla.net.

August 2, 2004

I met a new friend...

I met a new friend on IRC today. Her nickname is "_0x_", and she is six feet tall. An amazon. Due to her height she has issues dating and meeting women. Personally, I just think they are intimidated by her height. She likes cats, has tattoos, and is a really nice person. She has a weblog, and I don't remember the exact URL for that right at this moment.

At this time, I am in the middle of another 3D render. I have two more graphics ready to display, but will do that tomorrow. There might be three depending on how the render comes out.
